MISSION
The mission of the Patton Family Charitable Foundation
is to bring the family of Richard Patton together in a
common purpose of charitable giving. In addition to
furthering the good work of the charities they choose
to support, the family looks to the foundation as a
way to come closer, to share values and social
concerns, and to honor the memory of Richard Patton.
While individual interests may vary, the trustees
agree to select at least one cause each year for
significant shared support. The balance of annual
giving will be divided evenly among the trustees to be
given at their discretion. The family reaffirms the
importance of giving back and doing good; to that end
they will seek out other like-minded donors to enhance
the impact of their giving. They hope that future
generations will participate in the life of the
foundation and embrace its dual focus on family and
philanthropy. The Trustees will be mindful of the
importance of preserving capital to sustain the
Foundation in its mission.
For 2008/9 the Foundation will not accept unsolicited proposals,
but may request letters of inquiry from organizations working in targeted areas of interest.
