The D.V. and Ida J. McEachern Charitable Trust was established in 1969 to help give a better start in life to all children, both educationally and physically. Most grants are made to social service agencies addressing basic human needs for children and youth. The Trust is also interested in providing creative and positive opportunities to enhance the lives of our region's children through a variety of artistic and cultural programs. The Advisory Committee prefers proposals from groups that clearly describe how their program makes a positive difference in the lives of children, provides a unique service, or addresses problems that are not being met by other agencies in the area. While the Trustees recognize the need for organizations to raise administrative, overhead, and training expenses, Grants will be made solely for capital projects and items of immediate and direct service to children.
