This web site provides background to the Blanche T. Enders Charitable Trust, which was established by Mrs. Enders in 1964. The donor died in March 1969, leaving the principal to be used for charitable purposes.

Funding Interests:
K-12 education, animal welfare and care for the blind, elderly or disabled. Education grants are made primarily to groups working in the NYC public school system. The Trust also provides annual grants to four organizations named in the trust instrument.
Geographic Focus:
New York City.
Restrictions:
A minimum of two years must elapse between grant awards. No grants are made to individuals or for matching gifts or loans.
Eligibility:
Organizations must be classified by the Internal Revenue Service as public charities and tax-exempt under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.
Grant Information:
Grants range from $10,000 to $50,000; the average grant size is $25,000. The 2008 payout was $310,000.
Grant Cycle:
Proposals are due September 1st and grants are made in December.
