GRANT APPLICATION GUIDELINES

PLEASE NOTE: The O.P. and W.E. Edwards Foundation has moved its grant application and reporting process on-line. We will start accepting on-line applications immediately, with the grant cycle ending December 1, 2008 being our inaugural on-line grant application round. While we will still be accepting applications via the mail and email, we encourage you to use the on-line application in an effort to cut down on paper use and streamline the granting process.

We do not accept unsolicited requests for funding. Grants are made to qualified organizations primarily focused on programs for those children, youth and their families who are severely disadvantaged economically. Grants are made in two categories:

  • Grants responding to proposals we solicit from organizations about which one or more of the Trustees are personally and directly knowledgeable. These grants may be seed or startup grants, grants for specific projects of a limited duration, and may evolve into annual general support grants if appropriate.

  • Annual support grants. These are currently made to those programs so indicated on our grant list.
In the grant application please include the following:

  1. Brief summary of the grant request including the amount requested and the reason for the request.

  2. An overview of the organization including the organization’s goals and/or objectives, the oranization’s history and a description of current programs, activities and accomplishments.

  3. A description of the purpose of the grant including any relevant history, a description of the constituency served, the goals and objectives for the purpose of the grant, how these goals will be accomplished and how the grant will help to accomplish these goals.

  4. A copy of the most recent IRS determination letter, issued within the past five years, indicating 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.

  5. A list of the members of the Board of Directors and their qualifications.

  6. Most recent fiscal year-end financial statement.

  7. Current Agency budget.

  8. A list of other project funding

  9. The following should be included if applicable or available:

    1. Annual Report

    2. Program/Project budget.

    3. A list of employees pertaining to the grant and their qualifications.
Please note that we have instituted a quartlerly funding cycle. The dates for submission and grant donation are given below:
