PLEASE NOTE: The Foundation's deadlines for letters of inquiry have changed: they are now July 15th and January 15th for Fall and Spring cycles respectively.
As of June 15, 2009, the Foundation will no longer be accepting new letters of inquiry and will be unlikely to be able to support any organization that does not have a previous relationship with the Foundation. We ask all grant seekers to please refrain from sending letters of inquiry until further notice.
Initial inquiries should consist of a one to two page letter describing the grantee organization and outlining the project in question. Letters should be sent by mail to:
Ms. Edmée de M. Firth
Executive Director
Jean and Louis Dreyfus Foundation, Inc.
315 Madison Avenue
Suite 900 New York, NY 10017
Letters of inquiry are due no later than January 15th and July 15th for the Spring and Fall board meetings respectively. All such inquiries will be acknowledged with a letter of receipt, and further communication will follow if a full proposal is being requested. Letters received later than the established deadlines will be automatically held until the next review cycle. Any discussion or indications of interest concerning a grant application should not be construed as a commitment by the Foundation. All requests will be approved or rejected in writing.
Any questions about the Foundation and its application procedure should be directed to Jessica Keuskamp, Program Director (contact information below):
