The Foundation provides support solely for projects designed to improve the emotional health of children from birth to age 12 who reside in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

During 2008 the Board of Trustees will consider only applications relating to the Foundation’s current Area of Emphasis: Helping the community address the losses experienced by children of incarcerated parents.

Who Should Apply
Groups addressing the needs of children of prisoners are encouraged to contact the Foundation.  The Foundation seeks to work with organizations of every kind in every community throughout Allegheny County, including faith-based and grassroots groups.

Organizations are "grassroots" when they are:
.......• geographically specific
.......• governed or managed by community residents
.......• highly volunteer

The Foundation is an active investor. Trustees and staff visit funded agencies, review reports, and advise on program and organization issues. Groups that welcome partnerships with funders are best able to utilize the Foundation's assistance.
