Scenario 1
You work as a development officer for a hospital in Dallas, and are seeking funds to build a new wing. You are trying to broaden your funding base by gaining corporate donors.

Search Strategy
In Advanced Grantmaker, select the field Geographic Focus from any of the drop-down lists, then open the index and accept Texas. Go back to the index and accept National. FC Search will pop the second index term into the entry box and place the OR operator between the two terms. Next, select Hospitals (general) from the Fields of Interest index. To target corporate funders, select the field Grantmaker Type from any of the drop-down lists, then open the index and accept Corporate giving program. Go back to the index and accept Company-sponsored foundation. Leave the OR operator between the terms. Perform the same function to place the term Building/renovation in the Types of Support entry box. To narrow your search to those grantmakers that offer both types of support, change the OR operator to AND.

Click on the Search button, or press the Enter key to view the list of 17 potential donors.
