What are the new features of FC Search, Version 11.0?
The new version of FC Search: The
Foundation Center's Database on CD-ROM, Version 11.0 (April 2007 release) has updated and expanded information, including the following:
- The Grantmaker file has been expanded to include nearly 88,000 grantmakers (private foundations, corporate givers, and grantmaking public charities), including nearly 10,000 new grantmaker profiles. Grantmakers identified as having terminated or merged with other grantmakers, or suspended grantmaking operations for other reasons, were removed from the Grantmaker file. There are 14 search fields in the Grantmaker file.
- The Grants file now includes over 348,000 grant records of $10,000 or more awarded by 1,500 of the largest foundations indexed in the Grantmaker file, including over 123,000 new grant records. This file is designed to help researchers trace funders' historical giving patterns as well as their emerging interests. There are 12 search fields in the Grants file.
- More than 436,000 Trustees, Officers, and Donors are included in an easy-to-use index that lets you quickly locate grantmaker affiliations.
- Automatic links to more than 6,800 Grantmaker web sites, more than 3,300 corporate web sites, and to the Foundation Center's web site.
- In-depth program descriptions and enhanced application guidelines for select funders.
- With FC Search, Version 11.0 you are also able to click on a "Most Recent IRS Filings" PDF link when viewing a private foundation record. You'll be linked to a Web page where you'll find the foundation's contact information, a direct link to its most current 990-PF tax return available, and a link to an overview of the content, accessibility, and value of these forms.
- The FC Search, Version 11.0, includes an update disk that will be sent in the fall to purchasers. The update disk contains the full FC Search database of foundations and grants and will reflect the most current information collected during the year on foundations, corporate givers, and newly reported grant awards.
