The updated 2004 edition of the Philanthropy News Digest's (PND) special issue devoted to online resources in the arts is now available. We've included a range of representative sites that we hope will be of use to both individual artists and arts organizations.
If you would like to begin searching for potential foundation arts funders on the Internet right away, you can start by visiting the Foundation Center's Find Funders directory. You will find a listing of funding directories and related resources and tools for finding potential funders.
For requests for proposals (RFPs) from grantmakers in arts and culture, visit the Arts and Culture section of the RFP Bulletin.
Individual artists should check out our Reference Guides for artists, musicians, writers, and film and video makers.
For books and articles on arts funding, try searching our Catalog of Nonprofit Literature (CNL), the Center's bibliographic database. You could start searching on the subjects "Arts", "Visual Arts", "Theater" or any of the subheadings listed under "Arts".
Many of the books and articles found through CNL can be located in Center Libraries and Cooperating Collections. It is best to call ahead to verify a specific library's holdings. All articles, but not books, can be obtained through interlibrary loan at your local Cooperating Collection.
