Abstract

This report explores ways for high performing teachers, who produce learning gains up to three times that of the least-effective teachers (“3X”), to expand their reach to many more students than just those in the classroom. It focuses on enlarging classrooms and using technology so that the highest performing teachers can reach the largest number of students.

Key Findings and/or Recommendations

=Offering opportunities for high performing teachers to lead multiple classrooms will enable them to reach many more students in person

=Technology enables high performing teachers’ to engage directly with students both within schools and across long distances

=High performing teachers may also focus on delivering high quality video lectures and computer content, which can reach thousands or even millions of students
