Before You Seek a Grant: A Checklist for New Nonprofits
Cleveland
This course is geared towards representatives of community groups without nonprofit status or new nonprofits with very little experience in grantseeking in general. We focus specifically on foundation fundraising.
Free
90 minutes
The course will address such questions as:
- What groundwork do I have to have in place before approaching foundations for funding?
- What are the steps to obtaining incorporation and nonprofit status and where can I get some help to do so?
- What are the characteristics of successful nonprofits?
This free session will provide you with a step-by-step checklist approach to help you determine your own readiness for foundation fundraising. Advance registration is required.
The November 11th session will feature a special presentation by Matthew Rossman of the Milton A. Kramer Law Clinic Center, an in-house, real-client clinic at Case Western Reserve University School of Law which provides legal services to members of the community unable to afford legal counsel.
Mr. Rossman will bring along several students who will discuss legal considerations in forming a nonprofit as well as the services of the Clinic that are available to nonprofits.
