Nonprofit
and governmental organizations and individuals
The Foundation Center library staff respond to simple
factual telephone inquiries that can be answered from
the reference desk. We may be able to supply answers
to as many as two or three inquiries, depending upon
the needs of visitors to the library.
Library users are our first priority. We may suggest
that you pose your question by e-mail to the Center's
Online
Librarian, if this option is available to you.
For complex questions that fall outside the straightforward
inquiries that can be answered over the telephone, we
may also suggest that you pay a visit to our library
or to a Cooperating Collection or public library near
your residence or office.
Equipment for photocopying from paper and microfiche
materials is available at the library. Visitors
may also print from the library's public computers.
Library visitors are reminded to observe the federal
laws regarding unauthorized duplication of copyrighted
materials and software.
Fees
Nominal fees are charged for copying and printing
materials: $.10 per page for photocopies, microfiche
copies, and computer printouts. You do not need
to bring coins. The library accepts cash, checks,
and the following major credit cards:
MasterCard, and Visa. Payment is collected at the
end of each visit, and receipts are issued.
Finding the right information can be a difficult and complex process, and the explosion of electronic information available today presents even more challenges. To assist you, the Foundation Center–Cleveland offers a reference interview service. Representatives of new, emerging or under-resourced nonprofits have the opportunity to schedule appointments with a member of the Foundation Center–Cleveland’s professional staff Monday through Friday, 9:30am–4:30pm.
Click here for more information on this service.
Visitors have free access to a number of electronic
fundraising directories, including The Foundation Directory Online,
at computer workstations in the library. Library visitors
may access the Internet at no charge at designated workstations.
Library visitors are required to use 3.5 inch IBM-formatted
diskettes that are available from the library. We ask
for a $.75 donation.
Library visitors may also print out up to 75 records
from FC Search results at a charge of $.10
per page. The library accepts cash, check, or credit
cards (MasterCard and Visa) for payment
for copies. Receipts are available.
