Chicago-based artist Lynn Basa will conduct a hands-on workshop for artists about finding and securing national public art commissions, based on her recently published informative book, "An Artist's Guide to Public Art: How to Find and Win Commissions". This is the first book of its kind specifically geared to the issues of working artists. A book signing will follow.
Lynn Basa is a professor in the Sculpture program of the School of the Arts Institute of Chicago. She is the former chair of the Seattle Arts Commission's Public Art Committee and is an active member of the Public Art Network. She has conceived of and produced site-specific work for hospitals, universities, corporate headquarters, and private collections.
