New York, NY -- May 9, 2013. The Foundation Center elected Dominick Impemba, controller at The Rockefeller Foundation, to its board at a meeting of the trustees on April 19, 2013. His service on the board will begin in July.

Dominick is a Certified Public Accountant with nearly 17 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations. At The Rockefeller Foundation, Mr. Impemba oversees the day-to-day accounting for the foundation and its $3.6 billion endowment, monitors and evaluates internal controls, develops organization-wide policies and procedures, reviews the organization's tax filings, and is one of the individuals responsible for the annual budget process.

The Rockefeller Foundation supports work that expands opportunity and strengthens resilience to social, economic, health and environmental challenges -- affirming its pioneering philanthropic mission since 1913 to promote the well-being of humanity.

"Dominick brings both a depth of experience in financial management and a keen awareness of the issues facing the philanthropic sector," said Bradford K. Smith, president of the Foundation Center. "Those skills and experiences will be invaluable to the Foundation Center as we chart our course for an innovative, technology-driven, and fiscally sound future."

Prior to joining The Rockefeller Foundation, Mr. Impemba was an audit senior manager at KPMG LLP in its nonprofit practice. Before that he was the controller at the Institute of International Education and an audit manager at Condon O'Meara McGinty and Donnelly, LLP, a public accounting firm dedicated to serving nonprofit organizations.

"I am excited to apply my passion and my knowledge to this role at the Foundation Center," said Mr. Impemba. "This is a wonderful opportunity to help the Center build on its 56-year history and ensure that it will provide even more solutions to the social sector in the decades to come."

Mr. Impemba is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY.
